Mission through Ringwood

As a church we support mission locally, nationally and overseas. These are some of the partners and programs we support and we invite you to discover more about them and perhaps get involved through participation or donation as together we share the love of Jesus.

Safe Water September

Operation Mobilisation (OM)

We support Trish Sonsie in her role with Operation Mobilisation. OM is an organisation equipping, educating, connecting and inspiring missions and missionaries. You can see their work and their global prayer points on their website.

Indigenous Ministries Australia (IMA)

Indigenous Ministries Australia (IMA) was established by Global Missions Partners (GMP) and is a program which seeks to partner with and among Australian Indigenous people, focusing on Indigenous ministry and development. This ministry was launched in November 2013 at GMP’s Celebration of Global Mission in Perth. We support the work of this program.

YWAM Newcastle, NSW

We continue to support Dave and Carrie Stephenson in Newcastle where they run the YWAM programs. They are hoping to run a Discipleship Training School in November. They run a call centre providing prayer and foodbank services as well as ministry to international students. They continue to be involved with Meals on Wheels and the local Have a Chat program.

GMP in Salatiga, Indonesia

We provide regular financial support for Dr Hery Susanto in Salatiga, Indonesia as part of Global Mission Partners (GMP).

Eastwood Primary School

We support Glennis Esson, the chaplain at Eastwood Primary School as well as several programs at the school including KidsHope mentoring and Breakfast Club.

Vana Bawm, Bangladesh

Through GMP we support Vana Bawm who is the General Secretary of Bandarban Hills Church of Christ in the Chittagong Hill Tract, Bangladesh. Vana supports local churches and evangelists.

McCrae SUFM runs free children's and family holiday activities by a Christian team of volunteers every summer in the McCrae foreshore campground. Several members of our church lead this team and we support the team both prayerfully and financially.

We have been providing mentors and supporting KidsHope mentoring for over 15 years. This program means children at risk are mentored by a caring, fully-screened adult for one hour each week during school terms.

Sports Chaplaincy

Sports Chaplaincy Australia (SCA) is an organisation focussed on supporting and connecting with individuals and communities. Sport chaplains are involved in all levels across various sports. Chaplains are able to speak into and support individuals and families during some of their toughest times. We have several members involved as chaplains across schools, sports, police & CFA. There are many opportunities for more chaplains, so perhaps you can consider this as a potential role for yourself? You can find out more at the SCA website. We are committed to supporting all our chaplains as they work in this incredibly important field of mission.

Little Stars Playgroup

Little Stars Playgroup runs each Tuesday morning during school terms for children 0-5 years and their caregivers. This is run by our Playgroup Coordinator and is an opportunity for children and adults to share life, have fun and be supported in their life journey with children.

Winter Shelter

Winter Shelter is a Maroondah combined churches program that provides meals and shelter for those who would otherwise be sleeping outdoors during Winter. You can get involved or learn more via their website or contact Gitta Clayton via gitta.clayton@chbc.org.au.

Oasis is evolving into a community day. A meal is provided for gold coin donation every Thursday 12-1pm. A walking group leaves at 10:30am and once a month a movie is shown in the chapel after lunch. Volunteers from across the community cook, bake and serve this meal.

We also have a Nourish Meals Program for those within our church and externally who require a family meal. We have an Emergency Food Relief pantry which supplies a bag of pantry groceries items to those who are in need.

English Conversation Corner

During school terms English Conversation Corner runs at Eastwood Primary School. This is available for anyone, over the age of 18, looking to improve their English skills. These nights are free to participate and are meant to be relaxed and supportive, with trained volunteers.
