School Chaplaincy

The strong relationship between the Ringwood Church of Christ and Eastwood Primary communities continues to grow and evolve. At the commencement of 2009 the chaplaincy position was extended from one to two days per week.

In this fast moving, high tech, competitive, stimulating society children may at times feel confused, isolated or overwhelmed with pressures placed on them by their parents, teachers, peers (or themselves). It is important for them to feel a sense of belonging and trust. The staff at Eastwood aim to make their school environment a safe, happy and respectful place to be.

My role as the chaplain working alongside staff, students and parents includes:-

  • Supporting individuals one to one
  • Encouraging students to do and be their best
  • Sharing strategies to deal with challenges
  • Identifying strengths in ourselves and others
  • Providing practical support in and away from the classroom
  • Developing small group programs to meet identified needs
  • Forming and building relationships by listening
  • Training and co ordinating the KidshopeAus mentors

I work at Eastwood on Wednesday and Thursday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The phone number is 9870 6103.
